Do I need to submit a prescription from my doctor each time I submit a claim for the same OTC drug?


Not necessarily. You will need to submit a new prescription if you have been reimbursed for the number of refills on the original prescription or if the prescription has expired.

If your physician writes your prescription for 1 refill, you will be allowed a reimbursement for 2 purchases.
If your physician writes your prescription for 10 refills, you will be allowed reimbursement for 11 purchases.
If your prescription does not indicate a specific number of refills, or that the OTC medicine should be taken "as needed" (P.R.N.), you must submit a new prescription each time you purchase the item. You cannot re-submit the same prescription.
