What is HIPAA?

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, or HIPAA, addresses the security and privacy of health data. HIPAA helps ensure that all medical records, medical billing, and patient accounts meet certain consistent standards with regard to documentation, handling and privacy. HIPAA requires that all patients be able access their own medical records, correct errors, and be informed of how personal information is shared and used. This includes your health care FSA with the Judiciary Benefits Center.
